Welcome to 7 Pegasus
Traditionally portrayed as being white, Mounts Bay Academy’s Pegasus is pink and is the newest of the Academy’s seven houses, all of which are named after constellations.
Coming from Greek Mythology, Pegasus is a mythical winged horse, and has been used to represent wisdom and fame and is also the inspiration of much poetry. It is said that Pegasus sprung from the blood falling from Medusa’s neck whilst Perseus was beheading her.
It is said that Zeus turned Pegasus into this constellation following the fatal journey with Bellerophon to Mount Olympus. Today, Pegasus remains one of the 88 recognised constellations, and can be found in the Northern sky above Aquarius and adjacent to Delfinus.
Meet Your Pegasus House Crew
The Crew system at Mounts Bay Academy gives every student the opportunity to be part of the Student Voice. Crew meetings involve all students and staff in vertical House groups where any relevant decisions that have been suggested by staff and students are discussed in mini crews, debated by the whole crew and then voted on. In the past the Student Voice, through the Crew system, have made decisions about the length of break times, the type and quality of the food in the canteen and the areas students use at lunchtimes.
